Feel Understood AND Start on a Path to True Healing - I’M Here to Support You!
Welcome To Your New Beginning!
Hi, I am Elizabeth O’Callaghan, a registered and experienced psychologist based in the Melbourne South East area.
If you are wondering why previous therapy has not worked for you or are seeking help for the first time, you are in the right place. I am here to accompany and support you on your journey to improved mental health and quality of life.
I specialise in working with adults and provide therapy to treat many areas of human suffering. I aim to provide deep transformative healing and not just temporary symptom relief.
I practice a combination of therapies, including CBT and Schema therapy, but I am particularly focused on working with psychodynamics and Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP).
What sets me apart? My tenacity in guiding you through the most significant journey someone can ever undertake, the one from your head to your heart.
In addition to expertise and knowledge, there is an equally important ingredient necessary for therapy to work : trust. With my compassionate and warm approach, I strive to connect with you from the moment you step into my office. See more.
If you’re wanting to achieve deep, long-lasting improvement that goes beyond symptom relief - Let’s connect!
I can help you with

My rate is $220 for a 50-minute appointment of individual therapy. The first assessment session will be an up to 2-hour appointment.
Clients may cancel or reschedule their appointment at any time, provided 24 hours notice is given. If you fail to attend an appointment or reschedule with less than 24-hours notice, a fee of $110 will be charged.

Medicare provides a rebate of $96.65 per session with a general psychologist for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.
To be eligible for the rebate, you will need to book a long consultation appointment with your General Practitioner (GP) and obtain both a Referral Letter and a Mental Health Care Plan. If you are referred by your psychiatrist, only a referral letter is needed.
In order to receive the rebate, a referral letter from your GP must be sent to me prior to your appointment or brought with you to the initial consultation.
A re-referral is required after the number of sessions on your initial referral is exhausted.
-
The number of sessions varies based on individual circumstances, the nature of the issues, and treatment progress.
Therapy is a personal and worthwhile investment in your mental health.
-
Booking is simple! You can self-refer by contacting me directly or filling out the contact form here. I will get back to you with a free 15-minute intake phone call to discuss your needs.
If you require a Medicare rebate and don't yet have a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP), please visit your GP first.
